A subpoena to appear before a federal grand jury in Kansas City has been issued for Los Angeles sports agent Jerome Stanley, according to Stanley’s lawyer David Bass.

Bass told the Kansas City Star that a subpoena had been dropped at his office. UCLA basketball player JaRon Rush, who is suspended indefinitely, appeared before the federal grand jury in November. Shortly thereafter, he told his relatives and school officials that he had accepted $200 from Stanley. Stanley said he never gave Rush any money.

The grand jury also heard testimony from Nike’s manager of high school basketball, Don Crenshaw, as well as Kansas City businessman Tom Grant, according to the Star. Grant provided financial support to the summer Amateur Athletic Union team coached by Myron Piggie, a team that included Rush.
