Two people were killed and a 6-year-old boy was badly burned in a fire that gutted an upscale home in Arcadia early Saturday morning.

The $750,000, two-story home at 78 W. Las Flores Ave. was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at 5:30 a.m., fire officials reported. A housekeeper escaped the burning home uninjured.

The identities of the burned child and the two adults who were found dead in the house were not released. Authorities didn’t say if the three were related.

The boy was taken to Arcadia Methodist Hospital and later transferred to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, where he was listed in critical condition.

The arson and homicide divisions of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were investigating. But a preliminary investigation did not turn up any suspicious details, authorities said.
