HUNTINGTON BEACH

The Huntington Beach Central Park Equestrian Center will host a January Joyride on Saturday to raise funds for the Therapeutic Riding Center, which helps disabled individuals improve balance and coordination.

More than 150 equestrians and their steeds will join in the day’s events, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at about 3 p.m. Festivities will include a competition for the most creative costumes, a contest to determine which horse can trot the fastest without breaking into a canter, and a parade of breeds featuring about 25 types of horses.
