Pamela Scott-Ostrem; Ex-Respiratory Therapist

Services will be held Saturday for Pamela Scott-Ostrem, a former respiratory therapist who was slain in her home in Camarillo on Dec. 20. She was 40.

She was born June 26, 1959, in Los Angeles to Helena G. and Thomas W. Scott. The family moved from Hollywood to Camarillo in 1970.

Pamela Scott attended Monte Vista Intermediate School and Camarillo High School, where she was on the banner squad and drill team before her graduation in 1977.

She also participated in the Miss Camarillo Pageant.

After graduating from Ventura College, she started a career in respiratory care, working at Santa Paula Memorial and Pleasant Valley hospitals.

She was a board certified respiratory therapy technician and a registered respiratory therapist.

She enjoyed water and snow skiing, and horseback riding, according to her family.

Scott-Ostrem was disabled in an automobile accident in 1992 and could no longer work.

She is survived by her mother, Helena Scott of Camarillo, and her former husband, Larry Ostrem.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. at Camarillo Community Church with the Rev. Ralph Rittenhouse officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pamela Scott-Ostrem Children’s Endowment Fund in care of Camarillo Community Church.
