Hornets Acquire Ellis

The Charlotte Hornets acquired swingman Dale Ellis from the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for second-round draft picks this year and in 2002.
Ellis, a 39-year-old three-point specialist, brings the Hornets’ roster, short a player since the traffic death of Bobby Phills last week, back to 12.

Utah Jazz guard Jeff Hornacek is expected to be sidelined for at least three games because of a swollen left knee and a strained lower back.
