Joshua Tree Park Reopens Bee Attack Site

JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK —
The National Park Service reopened a four-mile-long section of Joshua Tree National Park on Friday that was closed after four hikers were stung by a swarm of bees.
Park rangers shut down the area along Park Boulevard after Sunday’s attack and searched for a hive but came up empty-handed.
Several of the dead bees were given to authorities and will undergo DNA and microscopic analysis to determine the species.
The park is in the desert about 120 miles east of Los Angeles.
