* Rock--Don Henley will bring his summer tour to the Santa Barbara Bowl tonight. Henley will perform works from the recent release, “Inside Job,” his first solo recording since the 1989 hit album, “The End of the Innocence.” The amphitheater is at 1122 Milpas St. $72, $55, $37. 962-7411.

* Movement--The SummerDance Santa Barbara festival will continue this weekend with Tere O’Connor Dance performing at Center Stage Theatre. * Theater--The Santa Barbara City College Theatre Group will open the off-Broadway hit “Violet” Friday at the Garvin Theatre. The musical is set in the Deep South during the 1960s civil rights movement and features a gospel, rock, country and R&B; score. Show times: Thursday-Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m. Through July 29. * Bonjour--The 13th annual French Festival will attract throngs to Oak Park in Santa Barbara this weekend. The event offers a plethora of activities, including continuous live entertainment on three stages, arts and crafts, traditional foods, an outdoor market and flower stand, travel slide shows, children’s entertainment, a poodle parade and more. * Cultural Traditions--Native American storyteller Johnny Moses will present “Octopus Lady and Slug Man: Stories From Nature” Sunday at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, 2559 Puesta del Sol Road. A member of the Nootka and Tulalip tribes of the Pacific Northwest, Moses will perform audience-participation works from his ancestors, including myths, legends and other teachings.
