DANA POINT
The City Council has approved the creation of the Dana Point Clean Beaches Subcommittee and appointed Mayor Ingrid McGuire and Mayor Pro Tem Wayne Rayfield as its members.
The purpose of the subcommittee will be to monitor ocean water quality, establish programs to clean local beaches and serve as a liaison to the regional water quality boards.
The city’s beaches have been closed nine times this year because of sewage spills in South County.
