Warrant Issued for Woman Who Got Into Pitt’s Home

A $5,000 arrest warrant was issued on Friday for a woman convicted of trespassing at the Hollywood Hills home of actor Brad Pitt.

The warrant for Athena Marie Rolando was activated after she twice failed to appear for a court hearing, the city attorney’s office said.

Rolando climbed into Pitt’s home through a rear window on Jan. 7, 1999, while the actor was away. A caretaker found her wearing Pitt’s clothes and sleeping in an upstairs bedroom.

The Billings, Mont., native pleaded no contest to misdemeanor trespassing in February 1999 and was ordered to undergo at least a year of psychological counseling as a condition of probation. Court records show that Rolando attended 27 sessions, but her attendance this year has been sporadic, according to city prosecutors.

Rolando had said she was unable to afford the sessions.

She also was sentenced to a graffiti-removal work crew and told to stay at least 100 yards away from Pitt and his home.

The arrest warrant was issued after she failed to appear at a July 7 court hearing for a report on her progress in undergoing counseling. Superior Court Judge Melvin Sandvig held the warrant until Friday, however, to give Rolando a second chance to appear.

Her attorney, Jason Sanabtria, told the judge that he was unable to provide proof that she was complying with the probation order, the city attorney’s office said.

Rolando faces as much as six months in jail if she is found to have violated terms of her probation.
