Rancho Cucamonga Slams Lancaster

Aaron Looper became the first Lancaster pitcher to allow a grand slam this season Friday night and Rancho Cucamonga snapped the JetHawks’ winning streak at four games, 9-1, in front of 5,182 at the Epicenter.

Jeremy Owens hit the bases-loaded shot during an eight-run eighth inning that broke a 1-1 tie.

Looper (3-3) allowed three earned runs on seven hits in one inning. Scott Atchison pitched the first seven innings, allowing four hits and striking out eight with one walk.

Josh Loggins of Rancho Cucamonga (14-15) had his hitting streak stopped at 20 games.

P.J. Williams scored the go-ahead run on a throwing error while he was stealing third and Antonio Perez padded the lead with an inside-the-park home run for the JetHawks in the 12th inning of a 13-9 victory over Rancho Cucamonga on Thursday night in front of 4,065 at the Epicenter.
