Searching for Inoffensive School Mascots

The dilemma one faces when attempting to avoid social sensitivities on pedestals of such absurd heights is forbidding as well as laughable (“Save the Crusaders? They Haven’t Got a Prayer,” July 17). Your observations are balanced, humorous, well-researched and a good read about a topic not necessarily easy to discuss publicly.

How about the Wheaton, Holy Cross, Valparaiso and Point Loma Nazarene “All Saints”? No one should find fault with such aspirations, while at the same time providing the school(s) a constant goal of high achievement.
