Anaheim roots-rock group Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys, one of the most exuberant and hardest-swinging outfits Orange County has produced, is still chipping away at a new album due in August, so the odds are good some of the new tunes will be sprinkled into Saturday’s show at the Galaxy in Santa Ana.

Ever been to a hoedown? Do you even know what a hoedown is? If you’ve never been or if you are just curious, mosey on down to the Orange County Fairgrounds for the Fifth Annual Country Hoe-Down. Enjoy live music by Billy Erickson and the Bandits and the All-American Boys Chorus as you savor some of the food at from the barbecue feast. Don’t forget to bid on items at the silent auction. Proceeds will benefit the Centennial Farm, a three-acre working farm that operates year-round at the fairgrounds. The farms gives youth hands-on agricultural experience. This is the kind of event where you can have fun and help the community.
