BLT Sandwich

Bacon and lettuce we always have. With tomatoes in season, this is the perfect time for a BLT.

* Basix: This charming West Hollywood cafe puts Bibb lettuce, apple-wood-smoked bacon and tomatoes on an Italian roll with either regular or pesto mayonnaise. * The Farm of Beverly Hills: Here’s the BLT you wish your mother had made. It’s arugula, oven-roasted tomatoes, avocado and apple-wood-smoked bacon on toasted country bread smeared with rich homemade mayonnaise. * The Standard: This trendy 24-hour coffee shop makes a “BALT” with apple-wood-smoked bacon, avocado, romaine lettuce and thick-sliced tomatoes on nutty wheat toast spread with herb mayo. * Ammo: Everything is organic at this chic little cafe. The BLT uses apple-wood-smoked bacon, arugula, large, sweet tomatoes and grilled green onions on sourdough toast, but in place of mayonnaise, there’s a lemon olive oil dressing.
