House Burns in Flash Fire; Chemicals Found at Scene
MONTEREY HILLS — A flash fire damaged a house Friday and the Los Angeles Fire Department said it was investigating chemicals found at the scene.
Firefighters were sent to the 3600 block of Harriman Avenue at 10:50 a.m., but the fire was already out, department spokesman Bob Collis said.
Occupants of the house were seen fleeing the scene, and at least one person was believed to have been injured, according to witness reports, Collis said. Officials did not know if anyone was treated for injuries. A hazardous materials team was investigating the incident.
