The city will kick off its annual free Summer Concerts at the Park series next week with a performance by Happy Crowd, a Hesperia-based band, beginning at 6:30 p.m. July 6 at Tri-City Park. The nine-week series will feature a variety of music styles, including rock and roll, country western, barbershop and more.

“It’s an evening for the community to come together, meet new friends and see old ones,” said Gigi Meehan, an event spokeswoman. “It’s like a block party every Thursday.”

The city has built a new performance area for the series. The concrete stage replaces the temporary stage used in previous years at the park, 2301 N. Kraemer Blvd. Information: (714) 993-8232.
