Anti-Abuse Coalition Selects Chairman

Share

The Coalition to End Domestic & Sexual Violence, a nonprofit agency that provides counseling to survivors, as well as prevention and education programs for women, men and children, has selected J.R. “Pat” Patterson as chairman of its board of directors.

Patterson, a board member for five years, was considered instrumental in helping the organization secure a headquarters location in Oxnard, at 1030 N. Ventura Road, according to the coalition.

He played a key role in changing the name of the group from being “against” violence and abuse to attempting to “end” help them, the coalition said.

Patterson is a real estate agent in Oxnard, having sold homes for 30 years. He has lived in Ventura County since 1973.

The coalition also announced two new board members Wednesday: Lt. Jason Benites of the Oxnard Police Department and Maureen Rodriguez of Oxnard, a deputy city attorney in the Los Angeles city attorney’s office in Van Nuys.
