Starting at 7 tonight, Exile Books & Music in Sherman Oaks will hold a fund-raising concert featuring some of its best musical and spoken-word artists.

“We’re having a little trouble,” owner Tom Ianniello said. “So I’m running a guilt trip on everyone.”

The show will feature a lineup of more than a dozen artists, including Mark Humphreys, Jennifer Hardaway, Honest John, Paul Sprawl, Ellyn Maybe, June Melby and Andrew Lorand. Each act will perform for about 20 minutes. There’s a $10 cover charge.

Sign-ups for the Sunday open mike--for performers with original material only--start at 6:30 p.m. Songwriters may perform two songs, and spoken-word artists get eight minutes on stage. No cover.

Tunesmiths Janeen Rae Heller, Matthew Lee and Mark Romano will form an informal song circle Thursday at 8 p.m. No cover.

Screen legend Kirk Douglas will sign copies of his book for youngsters 9 to 15, “Young Heroes of the Bible,” Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pages, 18399 Ventura Blvd., Tarzana.

In addition to a movie career spanning more than 80 films, Douglas has written three novels for adults, two autobiographies and another book for young readers, “The Broken Mirror.” Douglas will only sign books purchased at Pages for this event. (818) 342-6657.
