UC Santa Barbara Routs Fullerton by 47 Points
Erin Buesher scored 25 points Thursday night to lead No. 9 UC Santa Barbara to a 98-51 victory over Cal State Fullerton at Fullerton.
The Gauchos, 26-3 overall and 14-0 in the Big West Conference, have won 22 games in a row, the longest in the nation. All five Gauchos starters finished in double figures.
Erin Whiteside had 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Titans (2-24, 1-13), who lost their 12th in a row.
Santa Barbara led, 47-18, at halftime and a 10-0 spurt to open the second half built the lead to 39 points with 18:25 to play.
No. 4 Louisiana Tech 114, Louisiana Lafayette 69--Tamicha Jackson’s 22 points led five starters in double figures and Louisiana Tech got 32 points from reserves in a rout at Ruston, La.
Louisiana Tech (24-2, 15-0 in the Sun Belt Conference) extended the nation’s third-longest winning streak to 14 games. Charlotte Green led Louisiana Lafayette (12-15, 5-11) with 15 points.
No. 17 Mississippi State 75, Mississippi 59--Jennifer Fambrough scored 22 points at Chattanooga, Tenn., and Mississippi State (21-6) beat Mississippi (12-16) for the first time in the Southeastern Conference tournament.
No. 20 Arizona 79, Oregon State 77--Felecity Willis made two free throws with 29 seconds left in overtime as Arizona (22-5, 11-4) rallied to win a Pac-10 game at Tucson.
The Wildcats trailed, 58-46, with 7:42 remaining in regulation before using a 12-2 spurt to close the gap.
Oregon State (14-14, 10-6) forced overtime when Chassie Wiersma made two free throws with 1.7 seconds left.
