PURIM FESTIVAL: A Purim Arts Festival celebrating the Jewish holiday and featuring art workshops, a Hamantashen baking contest, costumes and entertainment will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Skirball Cultural Center, 2701 N. Sepulveda Blvd., Sepulveda Pass. The holiday of Purim commemorates the biblical tale of the survival of Queen Esther and the rescue of the Purim Jews from destruction by Haman. Admission is $8, $6 for senior citizens and students, and free to members and children 12 and younger. Participants will receive $1 off admission with the donation of three or more cans of food.
