Mass Schedule at St. Anthony’s * St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Oxnard will celebrate Mass at 5:30 p.m.today, and the sacrament of penance will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

On Sunday, Masses will be said at 7:30, 9 and 10:30 a.m. Spanish Masses will be said at noon and 1:30 p.m.

During Lent, St. Anthony’s is offering a “Lenten Wednesday With Jesus” series from 7 to 8 p.m. beginning Wednesday and continuing each week until April 12.

Contemporary Worship Services * First Presbyterian Church of Oxnard will begin a series of contemporary worship services at 6 p.m. today that will continue through the Lenten season. The Rev. Tom Prinz will speak on “The Lost Aspect of Love” and will give a copy of his book of the same title to all who attend. The service is casual dress.

The church will hold its regular worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday. Pastor James K. Bain Jr. will deliver a sermon based on John 5: 1-18 titled “Excuses.”

There will be Sunday School for youths during the worship service.

Sunday School will be at 9 a.m., and child care is available at all services.

Church Plans ‘Bread of Life’ Dinner * All Saints Episcopal Church of Oxnard will have a week of activities beginning with a “Bread of Life” dinner in the parish hall at 5:30 p.m. today.

On Sunday, there will be worship services at 8 and 11 a.m. A Spanish worship service will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Christian education classes Sunday will include a 9:30 a.m. lectionary Bible study led by the Rev. Warren V. Porter and a 10:30 a.m. Christian education for children led by Sunday School Supt. Cindy Morales.

On Tuesday, there will be a prayer service at 12:05 p.m., a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper in the parish hall at 6 p.m. and a Christian spirituality meeting in the parish hall at 7:15 p.m.

On Wednesday, there will be a prayer service at 12:05 p.m., and a Holy Eucharist service in Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel at 6 p.m.

On Thursday, a Bible study class will be held at 1:30 p.m., and choir rehearsal will be in the chapel from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

On Friday, there will be a prayer service at 12:05 p.m. and a youth group Bible study at 6 p.m.

Philadelphia Rabbi to Speak * Rabbi Ira F. Stone of Philadelphia will speak at Temple Etz Chaim in Thousand Oaks at 10 a.m. today.

Minister to Speak on ‘Noah Visits’ * St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Oxnard will hear from the Rev. Alan P. Gorsline on “Noah Visits” during a 10:15 a.m. service Sunday. Unity Center Offers Services * Unity Center Church of Thousand Oaks will hold services at 10 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Irma Oestmann will speak on “A Mountain of Strength.” Freddie Weber will be the featured soloist and Richard Jones will be at the piano. Council of Churches Hosts Dialogue * The Ventura County Council of Churches will sponsor an ecumenical dialogue from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Salon Room of the Theology Library at St. John’s Roman Catholic Seminary in Camarillo.

Academy Offers Lecture on Cloning * The Conejo Jewish Academy in Agoura Hills will present a lecture on Jewish medical ethics at 8 p.m. Thursday during which cloning will be discussed.

The guest speaker will be Rabbi Asher Lipner, who received a master’s degree in Rabbinic law from the Institute of Advanced Jewish Learning and is the co-coordinator of the Institute for Jewish Medical Ethics in San Francisco.

The fee for the lecture is $12.

6th-Graders to Lead Service * Congregation B’nai Emet of Simi Valley will celebrate Purim at a Shabbat service led by the temple’s sixth-grade class at 8 p.m. Friday at 4645 Industrial St., 2C.

Rabbi From Texas to Speak * Rabbi Richard Spiegel of San Antonio, Texas, will be a guest rabbi at Temple Etz Chaim of Thousand Oaks next weekend. He will deliver the sermon at 8:15 p.m. Friday and comment on the Torah reading during a service at 8:15 a.m. March 18.

St. Maximilian Kolbe Dedication * St. Maximilian Kolbe’s dedication ceremonies begin at 5 p.m. March 18 with a concelebrated Mass at St. Jude’s, 32032 W. Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village.

At 7 p.m. a Service of Farewell will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe’s temporary sanctuary at 1125 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village. A procession to the church’s permanent home, 5801 Kanan Road, and an all-night prayer vigil will follow the farewell.

Cardinal Roger Mahony, Bishop Tomas J. Curry and Msgr. Peter O’Reilly will officiate the Rite of Dedication serving to open, bless and sanctify the new St. Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Church in Westlake Village by invitation only at noon March 19.
