Ojai musician-storyteller Seabury Gould will perform works from his upcoming CD of Irish music Friday for a St. Patrick’s Day concert. Held at Ojai Coffee Roasting, the performance will include Celtic folk songs, sing-alongs and Irish yarns. Gould will be joined by James Schaller on guitar and Renee Peggie, a vocalist.

Choral Trio

Beethoven’s “Missa Solemnis” will be staged Saturday in Thousand Oaks by three Ventura County cultural groups, led by guest conductor Vance George. Los Robles Master Chorale, Ventura Master Chorale and Conejo Valley Symphony Orchestra will join to present what is considered one of the greatest masterworks of the choral music idiom. Soloists: Tracy Saliefendic, soprano; Linda St. George, mezzo-soprano; Gabriel Reoyo-Pazos, tenor; Louis Lebherz, bass.

Chamber Series

International classical guitar soloist Eliot Fisk will join Camerata Pacifica for an installment of its chamber music series this weekend in Ventura and Thousand Oaks. Fisk, who lives in Granada, Spain, will perform music of Bach and Sir Charles Villiers Stanford, several solo guitar works to be announced and the Quintet for Guitar and Strings by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco.

Whale of a Time

Ventura Harbor Village will present its Whalefest and Cultural Fair on Sunday. On tap are ecology-minded activities, including whale displays, educational booths, a marine life touch tank, plus information on volunteer opportunities with area nonprofit groups. The cultural fair will feature live Irish music and dancing, Chumash storyteller Alan Salazar, Native American dancing and more.
