Irvine’s New Plan

Share

In response to Mayor Christina Shea’s Orange County Voices column on Irvine (March 26), I heartily agree. The creative planning that made our community livable and capable of embracing a village concept makes Irvine an excellent and safe environment.

However, the mayor failed to mention that this very enjoyable good life is being threatened. Both she and the City Council have proceeded to force a CenterLine rail project directly into the backyards of Irvine homeowners.

This entire rail concept is ill-conceived. Our community would also begin to suffer significant traffic and parking problems. These issues would result in decreased real estate value. We urge her to reconsider this proposal and take it off the table.
