A woman was critically wounded by a stray bullet late Saturday as she stood in the doorway of her Panorama City apartment and watched what appeared to be a gang-related fight.
Maria Quijada, believed to be in her 40s, was shot about 11:50 p.m. in the 8400 block of Willis Avenue. Quijada saw a group of four males dressed in gang attire approach another group of men, Los Angeles police said.
After a verbal exchange, one of the alleged gang members pulled out a gun and started firing, police said. Quijada was struck by one of the rounds.
