31 Area Students to Get Law Degrees

Thirty-one men and women will be awarded law degrees from Ventura College of Law on May 13 during a ceremony at the Wedgewood Banquet Center in Ventura.

The keynote speech will be delivered by George Eskin, who worked in the Ventura County district attorney’s office before entering private practice as a criminal defense lawyer. He is now retired.

Speakers include valedictorian Edith L. Wilcoxon and attorney John Sweeney, voted professor of the year by the graduating class.

Including this year’s graduates, 760 students have earned degrees from the college since it was founded in 1973, organizers said.

The latest graduates are: Sarah H. Armstrong, Richard A. Rodgers and Amy E. Van Sickle, Thousand Oaks; Michael Joseph Costello Jr., John Jeisy Johnson, Michael Christopher Nielsen, Gregory Albert Resnick and Edith L. Wilcoxon, Simi Valley; Anna Leonora Ashford, Steven Bowman, Rebecca A. Bradley, Lynn Mari Flodquist-Strayer, Michael Evans Ford, Laura Ann Hammitt, Sandra Jo Higginbotham, Rein Perryman and Alyson Beth Snyder, Ventura; Grace Montesino Esnardo, Dina M. Ford, Tamra Reza, Diane Wolff Rushing, Valerie Neve Spencer and Anthony T. Wilson, Oxnard; Scott Anthony Hatcher and John Akio Nishimori, Camarillo; Rosemary Rowe, Moorpark; Valerie Lynn Williams, Ojai; Margoth Leticia Alfaro, Port Hueneme; Mona Andrea Sampson, Oak View; Debra C.
