Anaheim Man, 38, Dies in Crash

A 38-year-old Anaheim man was killed early Monday when he crashed his speeding motorcycle into a sport utility vehicle, authorities said.

The man, whose name has not been released pending notification of his family, was eastbound on Katella Avenue in Anaheim. Witnesses estimated he was going more than 90 mph when his 1986 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle skidded, crashing into the back of a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder at the intersection of Katella Avenue and Easy Way about 1:10 a.m. Monday, said Anaheim Sgt. Greg Mattis.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, Mattis said.

A passenger on the motorcycle, 32-year-old Mitch Drapeau, was taken to Garden Grove Community Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Pathfinder, 28-year-old Cecilia Salas of Anaheim, was not injured.

Police investigating the accident believe the motorcycle driver may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, Mattis said.
