Fountain Valley High School will host the ninth annual Mathematics Field Day for fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders Saturday.
The event is sponsored by the Orange County Mathematics Council and the Orange County Department of Education.
Fifty-four schools from 16 districts, along with two private schools and the Diocese of Orange, are registered to compete.
About 525 students will compete in teams of four in logic, problem-solving, estimation, construction and math. The top teams will receive Olympic-style medallions.
