Reader Finds It Hard to Take Plaschke Seriously

Hey, Bill Plaschke, was it your idea to submit a new picture of yourself next to your column? Were you hoping that your new “DMV” photo and serious look might make readers take you more seriously, or did all the sarcastic letters from Los Angeles Times readers force your editors to try a new marketing approach?

It is obvious from the photo that you have not been asked by Rogaine to be their new spokesperson, so why the change in style? I notice that J. A. Adande still has the same ridiculous smirk on his face next to his column, so maybe you, Bill, are just considering a new career in modeling after The Times tosses you out on the street?
