From Out of Left Field
As if San Diego’s Al Martin didn’t have enough problems, what with the alleged two wives and charges of bigamy and all. Now he’s getting it in his own ballpark.
When he came to bat in the first inning of a recent game at Qualcomm Stadium, a Lenny Kravitz hit was played over the public-address system. The lyrics:
“American woman, get away from me,
“American woman, momma let me be.”
Nice.
Martin has not commented on a situation that has been strange from the start, but he did pause to opine that the song was over the top.
“A low blow,” he said.
