Waves Shut Out Vancouver

The Waves scored late in each half to defeat the Vancouver 86ers, 2-0, in an A-League soccer game Wednesday night at Santa Ana Stadium.

Martin Vasquez scored first for the Waves in the 45th minute on a penalty kick.

Seth George scored the second goal in the 90th minute when he beat his defender and shot past 86er goalie Didar Sandhu.

Mike Littman had six saves for the Waves (6-4), which remain in first place in the Pacific Conference. Vancouver is 0-2-1.
