Riboletta Some Lady in Milady
Returning from her seven-length win in the Hawthorne Handicap on May 7, Riboletta was again a convincing winner Sunday with a 3 1/4-length victory in the $203,100 Milady Breeders’ Cup Handicap at Hollywood Park.
The 5-year-old Brazilian-bred mare, owned by Aaron and Marie Jones and trained by Eduardo Inda, gave jockey Chris McCarron his ninth win in the Milady. McCarron, who first won the stake in 1981, with Save Wild Life, has won six of the last nine runnings. He has also finished second four times in the Milady.
McCarron won two other races on Sunday’s card.
Favored Riboletta, running 1 1/16 miles in 1:42, paid $4. Trained by Inda since the Joneses dropped Bob Baffert as their trainer early this year, Riboletta has now won nine times in 22 starts, and Sunday’s $112,860 purse raised her earnings to $574,953.
