Interpreters for Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, Tagalog and Spanish speakers will be available.

Between 300 and 400 people will receive a free Asian lunch at noon, followed by afternoon entertainment featuring Asian dancers and martial artists.

While the event is focused on Asians and Pacific Islanders, the entire community is welcome, said Elizabeth Wong, executive director of the Asian and Pacific Islanders Council of San Fernando, which is hosting the event.

In the morning, there will be lectures on senior housing, transportation, health insurance and physical fitness.

A children’s area with face painting and crafts also will be offered.

The family health and cultural day is planned from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the San Fernando Valley Japanese-American Community Center, 12953 Branford St., Pacoima.
