R&B; duo K-Ci & JoJo will offer a bonus track on the first 200,000 copies of their next album, “X,” when it’s released Dec. 5--but it’s not by them. Rather it will be the first new song by the group Jodeci, of which they are also members, in five years. The idea, explains MCA Senior Vice President of Marketing Jayne Simon, is to both maximize first-week interest in the album and to lay the groundwork for a new Jodeci album, tentatively scheduled for June. . . .

The A*Teens are not going to use a B-list of ABBA tunes for the follow-up to their tribute-album debut. The young group has started work on “Teen Spirit,” a collection of brand new songs. Fellow Swede Max Martin--the teen-pop superstar producer--is writing and producing much of the material. It’s due Feb. 27. . . .

Cardigans singer Nina Persson is working on her first solo album (under the band name of Camp), with Sparklehorse main man Mark Linkous producing. There’s no release date or even a label for the project yet. Meanwhile, Linkous is finishing the third Sparklehorse album, with guest appearances from Polly Jean Harvey, Tom Waits and Persson, as well as co-production by Harvey associate John Parish. It’s due in spring from Capitol Records.
