Justin Gallimore returned an interception for a touchdown and twin brother Jason returned a fumble for another score as Colorado State beat Wyoming, 37-13, at Fort Collins, Colo.

With the victory, Colorado State (9-2 6-1) clinched the Mountain West Conference title and earned its second consecutive trip to the Liberty Bowl on Dec. 29.

Wyoming (1-10, 0-7), hampered all season by injuries and inexperience, lost 10 games in a season for the first time since the school started playing football in 1893.

Texas Christian Coach Dennis Franchione has been linked to the Arizona State coaching job, which became available when the school announced the firing of Bruce Snyder. . . . The NCAA restored Florida kicker Jeff Chandler’s fourth year of eligibility, ruling the extra point he kicked as a freshman in an 82-6 victory against Central Michigan shouldn’t cost him a season. . . . Washington safety Curtis Williams has undergone surgery to fuse two of his vertebrae so he can be transported to a rehabilitation facility in San Jose. Williams has been immobile at Stanford Medical Center since injuring his spinal cord Oct. 28 during a game at Stanford. . . . Mike Leach, who has guided Texas Tech to a 7-4 record in his first season as coach, received a one-year contract extension. The extension means Leach will have five years left on the contract. He has an annual salary of $550,000, with a base of $250,000. . . . Miami Dolphin offensive coordinator Chan Gailey said he has been contacted by Alabama representatives regarding the coaching job at the school. Rick Davis, who is Gailey’s agent, is an Alabama graduate and was a defensive back for the Crimson Tide. . . . Kansas State fullback Johnno Lazetich’s playing career is over because of a concussion. . . . Hofstra became the 11th member of the Atlantic 10 Conference in football.
