Brenden Morrow had several breaks Friday night. The last one was the biggest.

Morrow, who broke two sticks in practice and missed two outstanding scoring chances earlier in the game, scored with 3:57 left in regulation to give the Dallas Stars a 1-0 victory over the Detroit Red Wings at Detroit.

“A couple of guys thought it would be funny to slap my sticks around and I broke a couple of them earlier on shots,” Morrow said. “I had to make up a couple of new ones just before the game and one of them happened to have a goal in it.”

Ed Belfour, who turned away 33 shots, picked up his fourth shutout of the season and fourth of his career against Detroit.
