Credit Nash With the Assist as Mavericks Beat Jazz

Steve Nash looked like a young John Stockton. Shawn Bradley actually played like a 7-6 center. And Michael Finley was spectacular.

Finley scored 29 points, Nash had 17 points and a career-high 17 assists and Bradley had six blocked shots to go with 11 points as the Dallas Mavericks beat the Utah Jazz, 107-98, Monday night at Salt Lake City.

“That’s one of those nights where everything is going for you,” Nash said. “That’s the way it has to be to win in a building like this.”

Dirk Nowitzki added 20 points and 14 rebounds for the Mavericks, his third consecutive double-double. Dallas won this one with defense, too, holding the Jazz to 40% shooting.

At 8-4, Dallas has its best start through 12 games since going 9-3 in 1988-89.

Philadelphia 114, Boston 90--Allen Iverson scored 26 points and Theo Ratliff added 21 at Boston as the 76ers improved to 10-0.

Iverson added eight assists and Eric Snow had 12 as the 76ers continued their best start ever.

Charlotte 100, Toronto 64--Jamal Mashburn scored 25 points at Toronto and the Hornets held the Raptors to their lowest point total in franchise history.

Denver 95, Vancouver 92--Antonio McDyess scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Nick Van Exel had 20 points and a season-high 14 assists as the Nuggets won on the road for the first time this season.
