Owner of Hair Salon Is Killed in His Shop

Police were searching Saturday evening for a man they believe fatally stabbed the owner of a Hollywood hair salon shortly after the shop opened.

According to police, the suspect entered the salon, in a strip mall in the 5500 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, shortly after 9 a.m. Police believe he and the victim, a man in his 40s, struggled before the suspect fled on foot. There were no customers in the store at the time.

The victim’s identity was not released because his family had not been notified.
