The greater Los Angeles chapter of the Community Assns. Institute will present its annual Autumn in the Park Trade Show, showcasing 50 industry exhibitors, and “Rules and Regulations” seminar.

Location: The Pickwick Center, 1001 Riverside Drive, Burbank.

Time: Registration and trade show, 5 to 7:15 p.m.; seminar, 7:15 to 9:15 p.m.

Woodworking Show

The Greater Los Angeles Woodworking Show, with demonstrations and sales of machinery, power and hand tools and supplies, plus seminars and free workshops for the woodworking enthusiast, home builder/remodeler, and wood turner or carver.

Location: Long Beach Convention Center, Hall C, 300 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach.

Time: Friday, noon to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost: Three-hour seminars, $60 each; advance seminar registration includes a weekend pass to the show; otherwise, admission is $9 per adult; children 12 and under are free.

South Bay Homes Tour

The Sandpipers’ eighth-annual Holiday Homes Tour, showcasing four homes, all in Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach. The tour benefits more than 60 charities in the South Bay as well as individuals and families in need of financial assistance.

Location: Addresses of homes on self-guided tour available with tickets at 763 31st St., Manhattan Beach, and at the Sandpipers Holiday Boutique at 2521 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach.

Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day

Cost: $15, advance purchase and seniors; $20 at the door

Claremont Village Tour

A tour of the downtown village area of Claremont, led by a Claremont Heritage guide. The walk includes a 1 hour, 45 minute tour of the village area, Victorian houses, and college and commercial buildings. The tour is canceled if it is raining at 8 a.m.

Location: Starts in front of the Claremont Metrolink Depot, 200 W. First St.

Time: 10 to 11:45 a.m.

Cost: $5 per person

Redlands Home Tour

The Redlands Y Alliance Holiday Home Tour, which showcases two Victorians, a 1908 Craftsman bungalow and three contemporary houses

Location: Redlands, starting at the Y Alliance at 16 E. Olive Ave., also the site on Saturday and Sunday of a holiday crafts boutique for the Alliance and the Penny Y Thrift Store’s Truly Treasures sale.

Time: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Cost: $20 in advance, $25 at the door; patron packages, including a champagne brunch at Joe Greensleeves restaurant and front-of-the-line access to the homes, available on a first-come basis at $45 each; free bus transportation available to all of the homes from the Y Alliance starting at 9:45 a.m.

Home-Selling Tips

In “How to Sell Your Home Fast for Top Dollar,” learn the basics of selling your own home, understanding market conditions, preparing your house for showing, converting lookers to buyers, selling your house online, writing the sales agreement, handling the closing, and knowing what to do if your home doesn’t sell.
