The West Valley Academic Mentor Program needs mentors for kindergarten through eighth-grade students. Training is Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Parkman Middle School, 20800 Burbank Blvd., Woodland Hills. Call (818) 932-0306.
The Volunteer Center of Los Angeles needs volunteers to mentor disadvantaged middle-school students for the Los Angeles Team Mentoring’s Teamworks program.
