Westminster residents may hear explosions in the night and motorists on Bolsa Avenue may encounter delays this week as movie makers arrive to roll their cameras in Little Saigon.

Scenes for “Redline” will be filmed during the nighttime hours beginning at 6 p.m. today and continuing through 7 a.m. Saturday. The film has a cast of 15 actors and actresses and 100 crew members.

Fake gunfire and explosions will ring out tonight and Thursday night at the Cultural Court, in the 9200 block of Bolsa Avenue. That portion of the filming should be completed by 2 a.m., said Jody Hummer, the production company’s location manager. Some parking spaces will be reserved as crews also film dialogue and cars entering and leaving the court.

On Thursday and Friday evenings, Westminster police will halt traffic on Bolsa Avenue from Magnolia Avenue to Brookhurst Street as film crews set up their cameras in the street to shoot cars driving down Bolsa Avenue and going under the arches of Today Plaza, a newly remodeled shopping center west of Brookhurst Street.

“There will be no intermittent street closures before 6 p.m.,” Westminster Police Sgt. Sean Williamson said.

The PG-13 movie, produced by 3rd Time Productions, is about a young detective who goes undercover.
