* CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE (1-3, 0-2) vs. WEBER STATE (2-3, 1-2)

At Weber State, 7:35 p.m. (PDT)

Northridge, still trying to end a sluggish start, has fared well against Weber State, winning six of nine meetings, including all four since joining the Big Sky Conference in 1996. The Matadors are stinging from a 31-30 loss to Idaho State last week at home in which kicker Derek Brown missed an extra point in overtime. But getting back into action quickly has helped heal the wound. Northridge played well against Idaho State, committing no turnovers for the first time this season. Bruce Molock, who rushed for 199 yards, and fullback Crayton Milton, who had 36, figure to play increased roles. Molock’s performance elevated him to fourth among conference rushing leaders. Marcus Brady has excelled against Weber State, passing for 622 yards and six touchdowns in two games. Last season, Brady connected with Gil Rodriguez for a 13-yard scoring pass in the final minute of a 30-28 victory at Northridge, capping a 95-yard drive in the final 2:56. Brady will have his favorite receiver back in the fold. Drew Amerson, sidelined two games because of a knee injury, is expected to return. Weber State ranks third in defense in the Big Sky even though cornerback Sylvester Daniels suffered a season-ending triceps injury two weeks ago against Eastern Washington. Running backs Johnnie Gray and Jason Miller each emerged with sprained ankles after a 35-7 loss at Cal State Sacramento last week. Cole Cooper has passed for 1,028 yards and eight touchdowns while completing 59.7% of his passes.
