The Fillmore & Western Railway Co. begins its PumpkimLiner train tours this weekend.

The trips, which will be offered through Oct. 29, include a 20-minute train ride on the historic 1887 freight route through orange groves, open fields and over a bridge. The train stops at a private pumpkin patch where children and adults can buy pumpkins, gourds and decorative vegetables before riding back to Fillmore, said Carol Mailloux, who works for the train company.

The train leaves at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets cost $14 for adults, $10 for seniors, $6 for ages 4 to 12, and $4 for age 3 and younger. The train leaves from downtown Fillmore at 250 Central Ave. For reservations and information, call 524-2546.

Also this weekend, St. Francis of Assisi Church will host its 75th annual St. Francis Dance and Fiesta at 7 p.m. Saturday at the church, 1048 Ventura St.
