Search for Child Care
* I want to applaud the efforts of the Board of Supervisors, the Los Angeles Unified School District, the Department of Social Services, the county Office of Education and all of their staffs in creating half of the targeted 225 after-school child-care programs in the last year. For these major bureaucracies to collaborate and work out the details of the program and have 112 up and running in a year is amazing to me.
As a parent with a daughter who will start kindergarten and who needs after-school child care, I have visited several public and private schools that may meet this need for us; however, I have not found an after-school program that offers academic instruction, sports and cultural activities all in one place, and we are willing to pay for it.
