* MONTANA (4-1, 2-0) vs. CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE (1-4, 0-3)

At North Campus Stadium, 3:05 p.m.

Northridge can say goodbye to a Big Sky title after falling, 31-14, to Weber State, the Matadors’ third consecutive loss. Northridge has been plagued by everything from turnovers to penalties to poor special-teams play. All that remains is to play spoiler. Montana, perennially a Big Sky power, is ranked No. 6 in Division I-AA and has the conference’s second-ranked offense. Drew Miller, in his second season as a starter since transferring from Brigham Young, leads the Big Sky with 1,706 yards passing and 12 touchdown passes. Montana ranks first in the Big Sky in offense. Miller passed for 402 yards and four touchdowns in a 48-27 victory over Northridge last season at Missoula. The Grizzlies’ top two rushers are injured. Freshman Tate Hancock started last week against Cal State Sacramento. Yohance Humphrey is questionable because of a pulled hamstring and Ben Drinkwalter is doubtful because of a separated shoulder. Northridge defeated the Grizzlies, 21-7, two years ago at North Campus, but the Matadors have given no indication they are capable of another upset. The Matadors rank second to last in scoring offense and last in scoring defense, as well as rushing defense, in the Big Sky. Marcus Brady ranks fifth in the Big Sky with 1,097 yards passing.

NCAA DIVISION III

* AZUSA PACIFIC (4-2) vs. CAL LUTHERAN (2-2)

At Mt. Clef Stadium, Thousand Oaks, 1 p.m.

Cal Lutheran enters its second consecutive nonconference game after surrendering 731 yards passing in a 37-32 victory over Menlo. The Kingsmen can pass the ball, too, with Chris Czernek, from Newbury Park High, piloting the offense. Czernek leads the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with 1,111 yards and six touchdown passes. Dorian Stitt ranks third in the SCIAC with 395 yards rushing.His six rushing touchdowns tie him for the conference lead. Azusa Pacific has won 25 of its last 32 games and has won 15 in a row over SCIAC opponents, a streak dating to 1995. Since joining the SCIAC in 1992, Cal Lutheran is 2-2-1 against Azusa Pacific. The teams have not met since a 40-22 victory by Azusa Pacific in 1996.

JUNIOR COLLEGE

* SOUTHWESTERN (5-0, 3-0) vs. ANTELOPE VALLEY (2-3, 1-2)

At Antelope Valley College, 3 p.m.

It’s the back end of a double whammy for Antelope Valley. The Marauders are coming off a 31-21 loss to Foothill Conference leader Chaffey, ranked No. 6 in the state, and meet No. 8-ranked Southwestern. Frank Kielbasa leads the Apaches with 750 yards passing and seven touchdowns, and James Jones has 354 yards rushing and three touchdowns. The Apaches rank No. 8 in the state in defense, allowing 234.4 yards a game. Southwestern hasn’t allowed more than 18 points in a game this season. Antelope Valley is finding success in previously uncharted territory--the passing game. The Marauders rank No. 2 in the conference at 211.0 yards passing a game. Cory Allred has 826 yards passing and six touchdowns. Antelope Valley has favored the running game the last few years, but is averaging only 130.0 yards on the ground. Southwestern leads the series, 9-4, dating to 1961.
