LAGUNA WOODS
The Laguna Woods City Council voted last week to accept ownership of 222 street lights in Leisure World, pending approval by the two homeowner associations that currently own them.
The council agreed that the city should accept responsibility for the maintenance and energy costs of the street lights from Leisure World Third Laguna and United Laguna Mutuals. The council also voted to spend $25,000 to re-meter the lights, if needed. If approved by the associations, the city would assume responsibility on Jan. 1. Information: (949) 452-0600.
