Death Penalty Foes March North
Members of a Southern California religious group will march through the county on the way to San Francisco to protest the death penalty.
People of Faith Against the Death Penalty lit a “candle of hope” Oct. 14 in San Diego and are carrying it to Northern California for a death penalty conference Nov. 16-19.
On Thursday, at about 3:30 p.m., the group will march 5.6 miles from the Ventura Government Center to the San Buenaventura Mission downtown. The group will pray at about 6 p.m. in front of the mission for the 572 inmates on California’s death row.
For more information on the march, call 484-6042.
