The Huntington Beach Art Center will showcase an exhibit of “Day of the Dead,” a traditional Mexican holiday to remember the deceased.

The exhibit, which began Monday and runs until Nov. 12, will feature altars based on personal celebration and honor, contributed by 25 contemporary artists.

Also at the art center is the Crayola Dream-Makers Exhibition, featuring artwork of children from nine Western states, including California. The exhibit also runs until Nov. 12. A reception will be held Sunday at 12:30 p.m. for Family Arts Day.
