A Camarillo man remained in fair condition Monday night after suffering multiple injuries in an accident on the Ronald Reagan Freeway.

James Mainard, 37, suffered a collapsed lung, a broken right leg and head injuries in the accident about 7:15 a.m. in the westbound freeway near the Erringer Road offramp, California Highway Patrol Officer George Myers said.

Mainard’s 1987 Honda Accord collided with a 1995 Geo Prizm, also heading west, driven by Simi Valley resident Cheri Denton, 20, Myers said.

Both Denton and Mainard were taken to Simi Valley Hospital.

Denton was treated for a cracked right kneecap, a small cut on her left arm and other minor injuries and released, hospital spokeswoman Alicia Gonzalez said.

The accident remains under investigation.
