Fishing No Hobby for Cormorants

* I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry after reading the “Anglers Cry Foul Over Cormorants” (Aug. 25).

I hope the purpose of this article was to expose the absurd idiocy of the fishermen and their childlike whining about cormorants stealing “their” fish.

We are systematically destroying or displacing nearly every species of plant and animal on this precious and beautiful planet.

Me-first humans claim every inch of real estate on Earth as theirs. These birds are making a forced effort to adapt to habitat destruction. Unlike the fishermen who live to fish, these birds fish to survive.

What concerns me is that anyone is even listening to these ridiculously selfish fishermen or that any agency would stoop to respond to their complaints.

It is amazing that there are so many people who are intolerant of nature, animals and the natural world. My vote is to close these lakes to these shortsighted, self-absorbed people and give the lakes back to the birds.
