Tomlinson, whose goal is to rush for 2,000 yards this season, is on pace for 1,936 after getting 176 in the Horned Frogs’ season-opening 41-10 victory over Nevada.

Quarterback, Purdue
Brees, who completed 32 of 48 passes for 415 yards and had 31 yards rushing in the Boilermakers’ 45-10 victory over Kent, passed Mark Herrmann as the school’s all-time leader in total yards (9,283) and completions (774). That’s the same Herrmann who was one of the three players the Denver Broncos traded to the then-Baltimore Colts to get John Elway in 1983.
