A 20-year-old Cypress College student was raped in her own car Tuesday after being abducted from a campus parking lot, police said.

According to investigators, the woman, whose identity was withheld, was entering her car--a 2000 black Honda Accord with paper license plates from a Gardena dealership--after leaving class about 11 a.m. A man wielding a knife forced her into the car, pushed her over to the passenger’s seat and drove away with her.

After driving the student around the area for an hour and fifteen minutes, the man sexually assaulted her, police said. She was finally able to escape in the 6500 block of Valley View Street, where she ran to a nearby business and called police. The man escaped with her car and was being sought Tuesday night.
